I was up in Boston the other day visiting my kids and grand kids and I was telling them about the time an out of control locomotive ran across the Southeast Expressway. It was at the train wash track run around near South Station. Does anyone have any links to photos or articles on this mishap? I think it was in the late 60's.

The date of the runaway of a three-unit set of Penn Central diesels was August 21, 1969. The Boston Globe ran a story and a photo at the time, which you should be able to get from their archives. Trains also ran a photo in their November 1969 issue.
