Chartered in 1867, evidently some actual grading was done circa 1871 northward from Charleston toward Tuscola, before the project was abandoned in favor of a railroad from Charleston to Danville.(nee Toledo, St. Louis & Kansas City then the Toledo St. Louis & Western) Railroad Company) the NKP Cloverleaf.

Is there any evidence of the grading that was started on the TC&V? Or is that what became park of the NKP but veered off at Fairgrange toward Danville instead of on up to Tuscola?
