My dad and I are traveling to Indiana to do some trainwatching. We are planning to spend some time at Lafayette, in addition to driving through Crawfordsville to see if the semaphores are still standing (does anyone know if they have been removed?).

On the way back we were thinking of spending some time in/around Indianapolis. Does anyone have a favorite spot in the area? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

"Indianapolis" and "hot spots" are mutually exclusive terms. The busiest line through town is the CSX Indianapolis Line and that only sees 20-25 in a day, mostly at night. Otherwise it's hit-and-miss with the various branches and secondary lines around town.
