A couple of weeks ago I saw what looked like a CSX inspection train going through downtown Terre Haute: one locomotive and two passenger cars, the one in back with a full-height plate-glass window on the end, typical feature of an inspection car. Does anyone know if execs or board members were on an inspection tour, or if this was a VIP trip to some event, or if the train is used for actual inspection of the track, as opposed to the more or less ceremonial inspection by VIPs?
