I'll be spending a week in downtown OKC, and was looking for any suggestions on rail places to see etc?
Thanks,

Well first on an OKC visit, go to Bricktown (downtown) and enjoy Highball'n BNSF Freights at full speed on elevated track. Of course we have two excellent Passenger stations. Union and the Santa Fe both downtown plus AMTRAK Heartland Flyer daily. On the Weekend visit the OK Railway Museum. (ORM). Take a visit out to El Reno just west of OKC and see the abandoned Rock Island shops. Go East of OKC and see the Harrah, OK passenger depot. (Little thing). On Reno Road Just East of Downtown you can see Lumber being offloaded and scrap Hoppers being loaded. Follow tracks east and see the New UP yard for auto carriers moving GM vehicles. OKC is packed full of RR history and new construction. Good Photo ops for tracks over the Canadian River. Bring a 4x4 and go mudd'n on the Canadian River for an extra fun time. Lots of abandoned tracks to walk and explore. As always OKC welcomes train fans. You will not be arrested for taking pictures here.
