The Missouri and Illinois Bridge and BELT Railroad was controlled and majority-owned by the CB&Q. It owned the railroad bridge across the Mississippi at Alton, IL which carried interchange traffic between the CB&Q and MKT at West Alton, MO, and Illinois Terminal, Alton and Big Four at Alton, IL. The M&I also handled local traffic for on-line shippers, and it appears that their one locomotive was used for that purpose. From the 1954 Moody's Transportation Manual.
