You boys in Ohio notice anything lately as far as traffic backups?

I guess no one noticed anything.............

BTW, it has spread to Willard.

Reports of Q381 derailing at CP 171 (E.E. of Collinwood) around 625p 5/9
The mains reported blocked, but two Fast Freight and a yard track are open.

Eight cars. One car was off center derailing through the CP.
A few hours later, at the other end of the yard a 'Robo' dreailed with one loaded auto on it's side.
Outside of Willard seems to be getting worse with outlaws abundant. Most wb's vans outlawed outside of Willard.

You guys afraid of going much east of Berea?? :(

Willard was terribly backed up today around 5 PM. I was there from roughly 5-7 and then returned to Tiffin, took backroads to stay along the tracks, and it was a parking lot between Willard and Tiffin. There were quite a few trains stacked up, some close enough for the engineer to be able to reach out and smack the last car on the train in front of him.

Q160 & 169 will be handed off to the NS at Berea for a trial/test period of unknown duration. Don't know if other UPS trains will be affected.

Question for those of you familiar with the Cleveland terminal after the split fiasco; if this is the case these trains would have to go over the old PRR east of Drawbridge, correct? I don't understand why there.
Anyone chime in on this.

Berea is the easiest location to change crews.

From Berea east, trains can operate:
via the Lakefront / Bridge #1 / and out the C&P; or
via the Short Line / White Connection / C&P.

Clogsville or White Connection? I haven't been there since split date.

White Connection, aka "Harvard Connection", is the tie-in between the
ex-NYC Short Line and the ex-PRR C&P Line. It was constructed as part of the Penn Central merger and replaced the NYC's LE&P line between Marcy and Brady Lake.

Cloggville (no "s" despite the NS map exhibit in the Conrail split) was the original connection / interchange point between the Big Four (NYC) and the NKP on the near West Side of Cleveland. NS rebuilt this to provide a mainline-standard connection from the former Conrail (ex-NYC) linesfor Buffalo-gateway trains. This also would have allowed NS to abandon the former NKP mainline between Cloggville and the new connection west of Vermillion. The only consignees on this portion are at Avon / Sheffield, and they would be served from Elyria using the old Lorain Branch. Abandonment would get NS out of the high-expense area of Lakewood /
Rocky River (about 33 grade crossings) as well as the movable bridge
over the Black River in Lorain.
