Dear Friends

I have to visit Washington DC by the end of August.

I will extend my stay by several days and do some railfanning there. What is interesting to visit in the area? (Up to 200 miles - mainly vintage trains).

Thank you for any help!

You might want to visit the following museums:
Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, http://www.borail.org
Baltimore Streetcar Museum, http://www.baltimorestreetcar.org
National Capital Trolley Museum, http://www.dctrolley.org
Now this might be more than 200 miles from DC, but if you can manage it, well worth the visit: Strasburg, Pennsylvania to see the Strasburg Railroad (http://www.strasburgrailroad.com) and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania (http://www.rrmuseumpa.org).
You might also find Union Station in DC interesting.
