I drive through Harrington every day to get to work, there always seems to be activity at the yard off route 14; who is that activity for? Is there a industry or is it a yard or both? Also, it looks like there are 2 station buildings there, are they railroad owned and used, and if so what for?

Down the track a bit from the yard office one sees four cabooses:

They appear to be out of service and vandalized. Does anyone know why they've been sitting there for years, seemingly forgotten among other derelict-looking cars?

Also, at 109 Fleming Street in Harrington there is the Harrington Railroad Museum in a building that appears to be a former church. Does anyone know if it's worth a visit and, if so, what its hours and days of operation are? An online search did not reveal a website for it.

NS 12G and 13G are manifest freights that run from Enola to Harrington where they're broken down into several locals for Seaford, Delmar, all the way down to Pocomoke, and the Indian River secondary. The staion is still used as offices by the railroad, and the freight depot are the offices for MOW. Burris cold storage has a siding, but I haven't seen anything spotted for them in years. Next to that was Maryland Materials, they shut down long ago and the fairgrounds uses that as overflow parking during fair week. There's a film plant behind Pepsi on Rt. 13 that always had a siding full of covered hoppers, but that closed down a few years ago as well. The only customer left in town is Central Grain. There's been various oos junkers sitting behind the fairgrounds as long as I can remember.

The museum on Fleming St exibits all manner of historical artifacts from Harrington, including a horse drawn hearse, a model of Commerce St, WW2 memorabilia, and city police memorabilia. They operate the tower and cabin car on Hanley st as a railroad museum. Its usually open during the town's herritage days in late August/early September. But you can call to make an appointment.

OOS track in the background from around 1999 or so.

Excellent, detailed answer! Most likely I would get over to Harrington on a weekend for my next visit. Do 12G and 13G runs on weekends or just Monday to Friday?

As far as Burris Cold Storage goes, the MD & DE RR were temporarily loading reefers in Federalsburg, Maryland. There was a mixed user warehouse with a rail siding that saw frequent use. One of our bigger customers bought the warehouse out directly and since the railroad has had difficulty finding another building with rail access to accommodate Burris. It was fun while it lasted and hopefully another building will present itself for loading again.

I found some trains on my drive down through Delaware back in July.
Harrington didn't pan out for me, but what's nice are that roads parallel the Delmarva Secondary Branch for a good bit between Dover and Seaford.
