Looks like the City is going to reduce it's use of trailer trucks to haul it's garbich away.

There was an article in yesterday's Newsday that talks about increased use of barges & rail to get the garbich out of town.

"... in Brooklyn, barges from Greenpoint, Hamilton Ave and Southwest Brooklyn transfer stations ..."

So, what could this mean for NY & Atl and/or NYCH ?

There is no rail access to Greenpoint, or Hamilton Ave, and SW brooklyn is too general an area to know where they're reffering to. (Is 65th street SW Bklyn?)

However, the use of barges FROM the transfer stations, suggests the garbage arriving by the trucks that collect it, and transferring to barge to leave town. Just a guess though.
