Eastport service by NYA

Service to the customer(s) in Eastport by NYA- how often and what kind of cars were spotted there up until NYA's end of service east of Babylon on the Montauk Branch several years ago? Is that customer's trackage still connected, or did the LIRR snip the connection after the NYA gave them the heave-ho ? Thanks.

Track is still connected to Eastport Feeds. I visited on official business last spring. The Manager told me that they did ask. He told them he wanted to keep the switch. Still too expensive. But he wondered what the new appartments would experience with the hoppers and engines bouncing on the track thru the team track. NYA didn’t give them the heave-ho. Just too costly. East of Babylon the customers were Pulver Gas( Bridgehampton), Best Lumber LIRR Speonk Yard team track 7, Eastport Feeds (Eastport), Sayville Team Track Commercial Lumber, Islip Team Track 84 Lumber and Velvetop.

last time i was in the area a couple months ago the track closest to east moriches blvd and eastport feeds itself is in pretty rough shape.
