I heard that NYA purchased the 159 outright from the LIRR at an undisclosed amount and was sent out to Altoona PA for rebuild? If this is indeed true, when will the 159 be on the move back to LI? And what are the chances of seeing it on the Horseshoe curve? If it hasn't happened already?

Horseshoe Curve is west of Altoona. Chances of the seeing this loco on the curve are about zero.

It went over the curve about 4 hours ago...

Did NS pull a page from the CSX/Selkirk Black Hole "playbook" and misroute NY&A 159 to the west?

Probably went on a train to Conway and then return on another freight or engine move going to Altoona. Easier than clogging up the Pittsburgh Line to set off a locomotive.

Kind of a ridiculous question but taking a look at the 159 in this photo I noticed the horn was removed from above the cab. Does the mechanics in the Juniata shops do that or did NYA do that before sending it out for rebuild?

What are the plans for the E20's? Replace and return to the LIRR as new tier four engines come in?

The GP-38's are still LIRR owned and subject to recall by LIRR,believe they are to be returned to them when the new power is accepted by NY&A
and IS in service.
