I was at the M&E shops last Friday (1/22/10) and saw ex CPRail C424 4240 being dismembered outside the shop. The dynamic brake assembly was removed and was still connected to the crane that lifted it off. All the hood doors were gone, and the 251 prime mover and main generator were exposed to the elements. The cab, minus some glass, electrical cabinet, and rear radiator assembly were still intact on the frame. Most of the engine piping was disconnected from the 251, which had a VERY rusted block. I guess she's being sacrificed to keep her sisters alive.
