NJT 4137 that sounds like a U34CH who owns that beast. Isn't there a U34CH on the NY&GWL are they the same or is this different. I know most went to Mexico for Super7 rebuilding. How many stayed in the States.

NJT 4137 is a GP40FH-2 like the one in my avatar. It is assigned to haul AquaTrack.

Anyone know the story on the Amtrak Geep mentioned two posts above? Is this another acquisition to go with the SW that arrived recently or some contract work?

I think its a GP9.... All the EMD stuff they are getting lately is making me nervous.... I hope they don't get rid of the alco's :(

Maine Eastern F40 #265 was idling just outside the shop doors at 12:30 pm today....and was taking on 'food' from a local fuel oil dealer tank truck as well !

Certainly appears she's being readied for some runnin' soon....

All theses worthless EMD's{my opinion no one else's} what happened to the LTV RS11's they got like ten also I dont think all of the EX. CP rail C424's are running yet how about those beauties.

All the remaining C-424's are running:
18 & 19 the originals ex TP&W originally NYC
Ex CP units:
4216 Tropicanna
4228 Maine Eastern
4231 Bayway
4233 Bayway

4240 scrapped after sitting on the old interchange track for a couple of years and presumably stripped of usable parts. Think that's all of the C-424's

RS-11 - I don't have all the numbers:
7215 restored to operation - last reported at Bayway
7216 partially scrapped frame with prime mover sitting at S. Jefferson Road - reportedly the PM is good and it's the easiest place to keep it stored till needed.
??? in the run-around at Morristown - will try and get a number next week.
The rest are presumably still at Lake Junction (yes I know that's the old name - can't think of the name) though I've not given a close look lately. I believe another (7206?) may also have been scrapped at the same time as the 4240.

Hope that helps.

THANKS, any idea if the rest of the RS11's will be rebuilt or are they doing an A&M thing and collecting useable ALCO parts. I ask because I'm not in the Jersey area. One more thing I heard a while ago that some from the M&E sat on the board of directors for the WNY&P that was how the WNY&P got the C430's any truth to that if no one knows that's OK just thought I'd throw that out there.(maybe just a rumor).

While driving down the NJ Turnpike this morning, I saw one of the C424's working in Bayway. Also, just past the Bayway plant were several pieces of track equipment that were picking up old ties on the track that parralells the turnpike before curving west and across a small bridge.

I had heard from inside that the 7207 was being rebuilt, but it finds home east fo the shop on the passing siding.

Yes, the two C430s / board member / rumor is true. One of the M&E Owners owns the 630 up ont he WNYP as well.
