Saw a truck on the track today, with one of those giant white drums on the back. The truck was spraying the tracks, I'm guessing with like weed killer or something. I saw the truck pass through the Whippay Railway Museum heading towards morristown.

The truck actually stopped at the crossing of S. Jefferson road. The gates went down for a bit, but then they overided it and they went back up.

The truck sat there for a bout 20 mins, and then it reveresed back towards the musuem. There was also a yellow maitainance vehicle behind it following it.

This was all on the Whippany Line

If you felt like they were spraying weed killers (herbicides), why would you title this "pesticide spraying"? Just curious........ :-D

I don't know, it sort of looks like a green carpet. Maybe NS is planning to let their tracks double as a golf course when there aren't trains going through.

That seems to happen a lot on lines that transport lots of grain and/or fertilizer.
