This was an inspection train for the New Jersey Short Line Railroad Association. They were touring the short lines of northern NJ yesterday. 265 was on-line and lead the train on the return trip to Morristown.

Speaking of Convent have you noticed they cleaned up and opened the small westbound station?? I was there 2 weeks ago and I was shocked to see it with clean benches! How long was it closed???

Steve: Don't know - I usually jog by there every day but it's been so darn hot & humid that I haven't been around too much. I will check it out next week.

Saw them tonight, they look very nice. The RS-1 was just west of them.

Is it my imagination, or does M&E move the locomotives around pretty much every day? Nose to nose, then tail to tail, then on different tracks, etc

Regarding the WB station at Convent - I grew up in Convent and my parents are still there. The WB has been closed since at least the early to mid-sixties possibly earlier. The actual building is now open? I will have to stop by and see.

Don't know anything about Mr Black, but R.W. McEwan was one of the owners of the railroad in the 1950s and 1960s. RS-1 #15 was named for him.

Is #15 still "in service?" Strange to have one guy now on two locomotives.

#15 is now on the Valley Railroad in CT, I believe. It may be owned by the museum.

Don't know if it's in service. but I believe it was painted into NH organge and black during the 1990s

The 15 was damaged while at the Valley. It wound up being sold for parts and scrapped. Some parts still exist like the trucks and the middle section of the hood. The cab was sold and is supposedly used as a hot dog stand now. The Central New England Railroad bought it from the Valley as a parts unit.
