There is some talk on the M&E forums that along with the purchase of PVRX 4264, the WNYP will be leasing M&E 4223 and 4228. Does anyone know of this new development?

I read this in Railpace June 07 as well but one can never be too sure.

That's my understanding. (And it would explain why they have stripped off the lettering on the 4228.) (I think its the 28, might be the 23.) Understand the lease on the 4228 and 4223 is a lease with an option to maybe purchase.

4223 is said to have its lettering and logos removed at Morristown, NJ.

4228 would be coming off the Maine Eastern RR.

This is neat!

Has anyone caught wind of any of these engines on the move? We've known about 4624 for some time now but nothing has been said of its movements.

WNYP 432 is back on its trucks and on solid ground. It appears the re-wiring was successful. The locomotive is awaiting further work on the trucks before it can be turned loose.

LA&L 72 was the on duty yard switcher today.

LA&L 425 and 420 were the road engines of choice.

BH 422 has recently undergone its 92 day inspection, as per a previous post by Sandy Burton (thank you Sandy!)

WNYP 433 still needs some work.

Luther,

4264 most recently was an M&E locomotive. It was PVRX before that.

Nice catch. Thanks for the correction. Duly noted and thus corrected.

Before we all go crazy about this possibility of C636s being bought, everything I have read to this point in time is not really well substantiated.

As Luther said, the rumors are running them this way. Currently there are many rumors floating about the NYS&W and lets hope they stay positive.

Reports are in, via the railfan.net forums, that 550 is on the move and has been stenciled WNYP with Seminole Gulf lettering removed.

Make that 4 units including the two just repaired. On the ALCOdiesel list, one person says that all Alcos have ordered to be shut down and returned to Utica. This is UNconfirmed!
