For those who hadn't seen or heard, Vermont Rail System has taken long term lease of two CIT-owned former RailAmerica leased GP38 models. Former NCVA GP38-3 3801 and GP38 3808 have been relettered for VTR as 3801/3808, for now. These units will likely become VTR 206 and 207 within a year or so as these are multi-year from CIT.

And in a move that would make the Rutland purists smile (for a second anyway...) VRS is performing a 3-month evaluation of CIT-owned CEFX GP15D 1509and GP20D 2009, the modern day MPI carbody of the RS-1 (ok - use your imagination a bit!). Both units are paired for their initial evaluation and have been assigned to the Florence-Rutland local turn - symbol FLSW.

If evaluation proves successful, more of these CEFX units will likely arrive on the property in the coming months.
