Trains take freight and passengers through the underbelly of America, and the tracks are vital infrastructure to commerce. But, nothing is like it used to be. In Lockport, some of the rails may go back 100 years, as recorded by special spikes, and some of the engines are almost 50 years old. There is still the familiar whistle of the locomotives, comforting to some, annoying to others. The city remains a viable railroad interchange.
