Was driving from Medina to Albion today and noticed that a pair of CSX engines were sitting at the head end of a train on the Wye at the ethanol plant, around 2pm. Having never been able to watch FRR operations I'm wondering if this is normal or if there were extenuating circumstances that required CSX power to make their way into the plant today?

Yeah - unit trains to/from the ethanol plant are with CSX power. Has been this way since the plant opened.

CSX power stays with the unit train; but, is operated by FRR personnel. The no. of these corn trains seems to be up this summer. Local farmers have been supplying most of the corn during the last several years; although, they seem to have run out during the last 2 summers.
