I'm looking to buy a reasonably complete history of the North Shore and am wondering about suggestions? I've heard less than wonderful things about the text in Middleton's book, and that there are problems with the two CERA volumes, but are those the best things out there? Which of the two if that is the case? My main interest is from the depression on through abandonment if that makes any difference.

I've essentially got the same question in regards to the Pacific Electric and Pittsburgh Railways, but in those cases don't even really know what books are out there?
