Looks like Bound Brook is going to finally renovate the old waiting room on the eastbound side of the NJT tracks. But then, how many times have we heard this in the past?

Arriving at 8:00am, we waited until 9:00 for a train, then got 3 more in the next 45 minutes! A total of 6 eastbounds between 9:00am and noon; all pics (except the Manville shot) were taken at the NJT Bound Brook station. A few pics for your enjoyment.........

I'll most likely be in Bound Brook or Roselle Park later this evening after 6PM. Anything to look forward to?

I'm usually at Bound Brook after 7:30 on Tuesdays, as I have rescue squad duty that night and have to stay in the area. The past several Tuesdays have been pretty active, usually catching about 6 or 7 freights in a 2 1/2 hour window, and then your normal NJT runs on the RVL. I've seen mixed, auto racks, juice train, trash, intermodel, and tankers. Bring some sort of insect repellent as the bugs have been a bit of a nuisance lately.

I went out to Roselle Park twice in the past few weeks, Once last Friday, and then the Saturday before. Traffic was hit or miss, I got about two or three freight in alternating directions on the gauntlet track in about 45min, and then it was dead for about an hour and a half. Wasn't thoroughly impressed but I could just be hitting up the place on the wrong nights.

I have some Fridays off in the fall. How is the traffic on Friday AMs? Have to meet you up there Mike sometime!

It varies but there is always a few trains depending on what time you get there. Honestly there are better spots.

I'm not too sure what kind of traffic goes on during the day; haven't spent time over there during the day. However, it sounds like there are several trains a day on Fridays and Saturdays going through the grade crossing right at the bridge as I can hear the train horns from here. Early AM I was told that NS runs quite a bit through. I do want to get over there during the day before I go back on a normal work week schedule.

Traffic was good at Bound Brook last night, I got there a little after 9 and stayed until about 10:30, saw 5 go through between 9:45 and 10:30 (trash, intermodal, mixed manifest). Seemed like right before the storms there was a bit of a log jam as we had two westbound trains (one NS, another CSX) stopped on the LV for about a good 45min.
