So the Red Heifer is not currently in service? Is it even operational? I remember riding the D&U with the Red Heifer in the early 80's on a school trip. Probably the fall of '83. What I remember is that part of the train came uncoupled, and we left our teacher behind in the other car. Also I was...
Did the D & O every haul any freight? I can't picture who they would have deliveryed frieght to on the first 2.6 miles of the Ulster & Delaware.
Acouple of sites with GG-1 info.

4917 (4934) is listed on the second site that it contains drained transformers, I do not know if this is true of not.

Another question, How long ago, or when were the GG-1's brought to Cooperstown Junction?
So the question I still have, is were is all this stuff ( garbage, demolition debris, or whatever) ending up? Whose back yard is this stuff ending up in?

I have often wondered that same questions, I am glad you asked we will now find out.
What are their long term plans for the GG-1's? I doubt they will ever see service again, but are they planning on restoring them? I did find a website that said that one had been purchased by the Henry Ford Museum, but it must not have been since it is still @ Cooperstown Jct. That must be why I tho...
Ok, so I missed them. Anyway, who actually owns the G's, Delaware & Otsege, NYS&W, CCV, ..... I often wondered but never had anyone to ask until now.
I used to worked in Oneonta till 2 years ago, and I remember seeing them there all the time, even when they threw a blue tarp over one to keep it dry. I do rememeber sometime in the last 2 year driving through that way, and noticing they where no longer out next to the CP Tracks, did they move them ...
Last time I went through Cooperstown Junction, about a year ago, the GG1's where not there. I head that they got moved, and one may have been sold.
