I'm pretty sure there are state laws pertaining to the use of volunteers for, for profit companies. I don't think you can use them in position that makes the company money or use them in paid positions.

Excellent information, thanks for posting that. I also heard but cannot validate, that after the B&M was ordered to sell to the Conway Scenic, they tried to sell all the track north of Ossipee, to the Conway Scenic. At the time, the investors were only interested in the Conway portion, as anythi...

It's tough to compare, as Russ was the driving force behind the railroads expansion in the mid 90's, he had it the way he envisioned it. This new ownership is still developing their vision for the railroads future. It's not as easily defined as the expansion Russ had, but this new ownership isn't ke...

I used to collect their brochures every year starting in 1997 - 2019 but they stopped ordering those when COVID 19 shut everything. I doubt they will go back to them as brouchers are to permanent, now they can fluidly add or subtract things to the schedule as they deem necessary. I will have to dig ...

They started updating their Wheel Reports again and according to that, the baggage car is going to become HEP car. In addition to that, there will be three more passenger cars (similar to the CP Reed car) coming to accommodate a swell of new passengers they expect. Nothing is mentioned about a bunke...

They had an employees special with invited guess on board for Mondays Mountaineer extra that went to Fabyan's. 252 and 1751 lead the trip west, 1751 was left at Fabyan's, waiting to go to Hazen's. There's supposed to be 3 passenger cars and a baggage car, not sure if the baggage is one of the 3. The...

Brightline Slams Into Car Carrier

I stumbled across this article of a Brightline train, hitting a car carrier stuck on the tracks in Hollywood, FL. In the video, you can see the passenger cars rocking side to side and bouncing up and down, did the train derail? The few articles I've read do not mention anything about a derailment. T...

If the B&M owns the land, then why does the bridge over Front St have the P&W on it? Wouldn't the bridge constitute land?

Out of curiosity, NHDOT pays for these tracks right? Not NHCR? I know that it's frowned upon to isolate railroads like the CSRR, but that's a lot of mileage for the occasional equipment move. The state purchased the rail line years ago. NHCR leases the track from the state. Im pretty sure the only ...

The majority is 15mph on the Conway Scenic, there are sections with restricted speeds lower than that, and likewise some sections where they can go faster than 15, but it still all averages out to 15mph. The FY operated in reverse regularly but I'm not sure if it did so with passengers on board. It ...

For Conway Scenic's sake, I hope the NHCR doesn't give up on their line from Groveton to Hazens. It would be neat to see another "Ball Signal special" (I rode the last one and would ride another), but I know there's "issues at foot" there. NHCR is not going anywhere, at least no...

Why run the risk? If it is given a designated historic status for preservation, there will be funds and grants available for maintaining it. Right now, it has only NHC willingness to maintain it.
