Does anyone know what the parking situation is like at any of the Shoreline East stations? Would that be a reasonable alternative than schleping around New Haven for them, and it has the benefit of being *slightly* closer to where they're coming from?

New Haven has plenty of parking - if not in the actual adjacent garage, there are plenty of surrounding ones. Rear of Signal is right though, honestly it would probably be cheaper and more convenient to just take Amtrak from Providence or something...and driving any farther than New Haven would just...

On my way home from work this evening I could see #1981 sitting at Waterbury about to depart and both engines were Metro North scheme BL20s. I would assume one is 111.

CDOT owns those units and they're in pool service. In my limited experience, I've seen more CDOT Gennys in the NH scheme on Hudson and Harlem videos - than I've ever seen on the New Haven line :)

Take pics and share with us! I'd love to see what's happening with the washboards (NH 4400-series MUs). I'm a traction junkie at heart. I didn't get the camera I planned on getting, so the pictures may be a bit on the sucky side as they're with my ancient one, but I did in fact go, here's a link to...

Do you know if they have their full range of equipment out for display at this time of year, or is some of it stored for the winter? If I get the new camera I was planning on picking up tomorrow, I was thinking about going down there to try it out.

I shot these last week in South Norwalk, CT - which is not an Amtrak station, thus why they are all bypassing. Was trying to catch #1981 at the South Leonard St overpass in Waterbury today, gave up at 5:05pm, at the time nothing was listed on the MTA website. As I was heading back to Route 8 I thought I saw the train sitting idle by or under the Mixmaster - I can't say for sure because it's not a clear view ...
