Eons ago (it may have been at one of those infamous "lets make the Waterbury branch better" meetings) I thought I had seen that there was supposed to be some sort of preliminary work pertaining to the eventual signalization of the branch commencing this summer...now that would be a step in...

Your answer may vary depending on who you ask... Personally I don't think there's much difference, except the temporary platform is wider than the actual platform at Bridgeport, which is nice when there are 11 billion baby strollers, etc to dodge. Then again when I ride, it's Naugatuck-Devon/Bridgep...
The High Line at the Yards expansion ends right around the corner from the station...plus affords some great lazy railfanning views of LIRR

Wow, the outside looks really nice. Last time I was there was October(I think?) and it still had the privacy wall around it. It'll be a lot nicer getting back to GCT from the Intrepid and the Walkway now than hoofin' it over 42nd Street. There was a gaping hole in the fence for me to stick my camer...
He's still alive and well, The EGE is pretty much right on with why the maps disappeared.
He's also busy with life and so on...
Of course the question is...what lies behind that plywood. Isn't a large part of the delay the fancy newfangled escalators (elevators?) they have to install because the station is so deep?

It's not that the link is bad, it's that the Waterbury paper provides a comically small amount of the article in front of the paywall.

Do we really need to have a retirement thread when there's probably at least two years before things start being reefed en masse?
