This is a clip from a article in 2013 as to why the cars were delayed- (As for the 54 new bi-level cars, MTA expects the first of the cars to be in service in November. The cars were delayed by a strike at the factory in Quebec and Federal Railroad Administration-required modifications to the brake...

Rumors (from a guy that always has good intel) are SEPTA will get a half dozen AEM-7's from Amtrak for "organ donors". Looks like SEPTA won't be buying new engines anytime soon. Frazer is going to look like a redneck trailer park with junked AEM-7's parked in the back yard, up on cinder b...

Hello everyone. I've been in the Orlando area all week and I have tried to catch the Florida central trains coming into Orlando. Before Sunrail, the trains would come into Orlando in the morning. Is this still the case? Is there just one train a day or is there a night version of this train as well?...

Ok I may be in Florida for the week but I do have this week's bulletin order and it states that 2 new high speed crossovers were installed and in service effective this past Monday. After reading that, I would agree with the OP that these are high speed crossovers since it's black and white(ok reall...

The roof line of the multis have nothing to do with the tunnel shape but signal clearances in NYP. The LIRR doesn't have the same roof line and go thru the tunnels and yes they can operate thru the North River tubes as well. They can only do straight moves thru 11-12 to get to those tunnels. I do be...

Yes the remans or ac units are very reliable compared to the DC motors. Acceleration is way improved as well

I haven't seen the terms of the lease or that it will happen, only that these units were to be put on hold for a POSSIBLE lease to septa.

These units are not very good riding at track speed especially if you manage to get it at its max speed of 100. The vibrate and shake a lot. Definitely don't ride nice like a P42.
