Hi noel, as I type this, I'm rolling into Sanford terminal on Auto Train p053 and yes the Tri-Rail DMU cars are currently sitting in Sanford yard on Sunrail.

The roof line of the multis have nothing to do with the tunnel shape but signal clearances in NYP. The LIRR doesn't have the same roof line and go thru the tunnels and yes they can operate thru the North River tubes as well. They can only do straight moves thru 11-12 to get to those tunnels. Noel, does Tri-Rail still have those DMUs? I ask this because I just saw a video of Sunrail and thought I saw those cars sitting in Sanford in this video? I guess I will find out next week as I will be spending a week in sunny Florida.

These units are not very good riding at track speed especially if you manage to get it at its max speed of 100. The vibrate and shake a lot. Definitely don't ride nice like a P42.
