Thank you for the clarification, Otto. It should also be noted that the LA&L had donated their 45 tonner to RGVRRM in the past and has collaborated on excursions, which should dispell any notion they are hostile to preservation or nostalgia in general. But... as you say.. .the LA&L is a busi...
The Tier has a pair of 68N trains inbound. The frist has BNSF Dash 9, NS D9 and NS ACu for power. It left Bison yard about an hour ago. The 2nd train has NS ACe, NS D9 and CN SD75I. this train is ucrrently on the lake Erie Dsitrict near the OH?PA border and will probably run on the Tier in daylight ...

So they gave one away.
Boy LA&L has a lousy track record for scrapping stuff that should have been preserved, is the ex-Despatch Shops unit going to be destroyed too? Lousy track record? The LA&L basically gave RS1 #20 the RGVRRM on a long-term loan, while the WNYP is currently using fromer TIOC/D&H RS3u #406...
Most of John's list is accurate, but I will disagree with his timing for 2 trains. NS 310 is usually a daylight train these days. I have photographed it several times late morning/early afternoon on the west end of the Tier earlier this year. Facebook reports and photos indicate this is still pretty...
The Southern unit is leading NS 310 today. The train just changed crews in Depew a short time ago, so #8099 will make a daylight run on the Tier today.
State Line Auto (in Waverly) is now receiving auto racks. NS H17 serviced them this morning, possibly for the 1st time.
The operating pattern is similar to early 2014 but not completely identical. NS combined 13T and 38T into a much bigger 36T after acquiring the D&H. Similarly, NS 12T and 39T were combined into a much bigger 37T. Even before NS adopted "precision RRing", they were already following the...
NS 287 has been completely abolished. Empty auto racks will go west on the Tier via NS 205. Norfolk Southern will also run extras (symbols I87 and 24V) west of Buffalo as needed.
NS has extended 205 and 206 back to Mechanicville effective today. NS 28N now terminates in Buffalo, so the changes are a symbol reshuffle.
Also, NS has been running 68N sand trains to Sayre once or twice per week, with the most recent train being yesterday.
NS has 68N headed to Sayre. Not sure when the train will arrive, but the power is BNSF-CN-BNSF.
NS 524 is currently in Sayre, PA. An ITHR crew will go on duty there @ 8 AM and take the train to Milliken, using NS power.
The 5th car of NS 524 broke a coupler knuckle on Attica Hill about an hour ago, in almost the exact same spot where NS 310 stalled yesterday. once the train gets moving again, it will arrive in Sayre under cover of darkness. ITHR will move the train to Milliken using their crew and NS power.
ITHR has added a 3rd locomotive to their fleet. SD40-2 #4241 was used for the 1st time yesterday in pusher service.
