They’ve taken tank carloads at Huntington team track and also boxcar loads of ice melt at Islip team many years back during the NYA era. I would assume the tanks are loaded with some form of calcium. Thanks, freightguy
I was told that K and SD were made single ended because it would be (a little) cheaper to implement PTC for each turnout removed. Go figure... no freight out that way these days so not really any meets.
Are multi compartment tanks still even a thing?
Who is the customer at Wheelspur taking bulk beer? - Last I remember there was a food importer there importing foods from over the pacific.
Only thing that has changed is you need more separation between freights and passenger trains, I'm curious about the need for additional separation. Is it true that a WB Extra can't observe an EB Regular passing a block limit complete, report that to the Operator and then get permission to enter WB...

ACSES works in concert with a wayside signaling system. How does LIRR handle PTC in Manual Block 251 territory?
Last image is opening day at new Floral Park station. The wreath was ordered by Tom Goodfellow for the first passenger train to use the station, so reporters, photographers, television, you name it are in attendance. A few minutes before the first passenger train, a freight came through and carried...
You had Ideal Steel( cell phone towers) at St James team. Velvet top( ice melt) in Greenlawn double ended freight. Nassau Suffolk lumber took boxcars at their Port Jeff yard facility in the American Dream siding. Kleet I believe got some sort of grant to keep their switch I believe at Park Ave in H...

NY&A never had anything east of Kleet on the Port Jeff at any time? Everything out there was gone by '97?
261/268/159 left Coastal westbound with 29 loads of C&D about 8:45 PM last night. Coastal's tracks were pretty much emptied out except for what looked like two empties in the darkness. Funny thing I saw the outbound cars to CSX at 6:45 AM this morning and in addition to cov. hoppers and boxcars...

Takes a Train Order (disguised as a Movement Form L) to run an extra out there.
gregorygrice wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:56 pm Markers are not really needed in freight as the engines do not trail often. It's funny half of the times I see RS-70 in Riverhead it's double-ended, the other half they do the runaround at LD siding with the 2 units together - but I don't see it that often. I assume it's just crew preference.
How come the PR-20B's came without red marker lights?
