Isn't this supposed to be tied in with the 287 project?
The whole tpz and 287 idea is for a line from Stewart Airport, down the PJ line, on the old erie, across tpz, down 287, then GCT bound trains connect to the harlem line, and other trains would continue via 287 to Port Chester. I hope that those trains will then continue to either Stamford or even Ne...
Well, they could have the Yankee Stadium station open year round for the areas residents as well.
I'm actually glad they don't have the state seal. Hell, i couldn't even get away from it on the Cape Cod Central(for those who don't know, they use old LIRR worlds fair coaches). As far as seating goes, they made a BIG mistake. I think they shoulda taken the time the figure out a way to make bi-leve...
I say MTA 1st works on 7 to Javits and ESA, then SAS and ESA, then 7 to downtown and SAS. That'd space things out pretty nice.
The tracks were there first. They saw them, they deal with them. End of story with the NIMBYs.
I know exactly what you're talking about. To the best of my knowledge, it's just a maintenance yard. All I've ever seen there are those MTA trucks that go on the tracks and some other stuff. Doubt they'll ever use it for layups. I'm pretty sure it's non-electrified.
Is this GinsterX?
The station right at the tunnels, yea, that HP av.
I say run the 7 from TSQ to NYP-Javits Center-Chelsea Piers-14th St-Christopher St-maybe Houston St-Canal St-WTC/Fulton St
Does anyone know if Shortline, Adirondack Trailways, or Pine Hill Trailways plans on serving the station, or is the current Ramsey stop already near the tracks?
Why doesn't NJT do this? Screw the NIMBYs, the tracks are there, right? If not, atleast ROW is
My bad, I was off by 8 years. Service to PW started June 23rd, 1896, not 1888....don't know if that really affects the possible time frame though...
Hey Black River, that was my joke during my NIMBYkiller days! hehe
Ok, now I can see it. I've narrowed down the time frame from 1870 to 1888. This is b/c the old south side line to Hempstead is there and not the current line to WH, and the extension from Great Neck to PW isn't on the map(this was opened June 23rd, 1888)
NJTRailfan: I still think there should be some express that make all stops to the NJ border, then non-stop to Dover, then non-stop to either Newark then Hoboken or just Hoboken with no stop at Newark...this would allow for a faster ride for those commuting to NYC and an option for those working in M...
