Is the completion of all this to be done to coincide with NASA's landing a man on Mars?? With all the noise last winter about the restoration of Hawthorne-Hackensack you would've figured this project would've been well in motion by now. Although I've got no doubt the state intends to fast-track the ...

Will there be any kind of direct access from the new OL/GL platforms
to Fleet Center Commuter promenade at North Station. Is what's there
now the permanent C/R station??I'd hate to think so.What's there now isn't much better than what South Station was during pre-renovation years.

Blockline,
Is Newfoundland viable as a western terminus these days.I haven't been up that since I lived in NJ ,which was until 12 years ago.Isn't a sizable
P&R been or supposed to be built there?

NJT/MNBuff, I lived in Northern NJ(Bergen County)for more than 20 years&I currently live on The Cape.Your best bet is to stay in Boston&take R/T on Kingston/Plymouth line. The bus to the train can be a real ordeal. From Hyannis you take The Plymouth&Brockton bus to Plymouth(Exit)5,then tra...

As much as I enjoy the view fron Moodna,I prefered the Old Erie M/L route through Middletown.Used to enjoy walking over to where the old O&W shops were and visiting that old station of the The Old&Weary's. I'm originally from Eastchester,NY&my parents from Pelham &New Rochelle ,so bo...

CSX,you're right about the N&Q.I generally go via the F.Some great views of Red Hook&S.Brooklyn. That's the one I was on when that came mind. 9th &Smith St.had a great view of the WTC and riding on that line you get a pretty good view into the vatious neighborhoods you pass through. I im...

Robert. I moved to Massachusetts from the NY Metro area not long after service on The Orange line stopped but I have ridden The Silver line.I'm wondering if that really compensates for the view into the various neighborhoods that the El passed through. My reason for mentioning this is I was on my way...

Maybe not to start with.Granted, long term it'd never suffice. But if you were to graduate the frequency by degrees to what the Pascack Valley line has had for the last 40 years, that MIGHT work. This line will never provide into the kind of service the BC/ML's or M&E have but I can't help think a 4...

Service could be started up very quickly this way.And what about the proposed Hawthorne to Hackensack service that was promoted with so much enthusiam last winter.Has there been any movement on that?

The Green Line uses electricity anyway,so how much more of an effect to the envoirment is there gonna'be?I would think the yuppies in Jamaica Plain would welcome the restoration. Those Orange line stations aren't always the safest of places at certain hours of the day. This way people can P/U the Gree...
