The deal was 20-some years ago when the port authority built an intermodal transportation center in the Fairhaven part of town; buses and trains with ferries across the street. The GN station is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places and the BNSF uses it as a yard office.

The commuter trains went to Center Avenue station, down a branch, while the main line station, according to an Official Guide, was 700 feet away. Below is a scan from the PRR CT-1000 of 1945. Here's a link to a track chart of the Burgetts Branch . And another link with location coordinates and a mod...

Reference to Track 3 between Cayuga and Clarks Summit was removed from the timetable after Oct. 1961 and before Oct. 1964.
If you ask the question over on the "DL&W, Erie, Erie Lackawanna" Fallen Flag forum you might get a more precise answer.

When you ride SEPTA, what apps do you use. Also, if any of you use the current SEPTA app, I am curious to hear your thoughts/complaints/suggestions about it. I use the SEPTA app while traveling. Choosing new origin/destination pairs gets tedious for both train and transit so I rely on the "Fav...

US 2558709 A.jpg I am not sure the area that has been circled is actually the actual crack. I have attached an image of US Patent US2558709 A, for a wear shoe for railroad equalizer truck frames. The patent drawing shows that the notches seen in the pictures should be there. On the right side of th...

SEPTA crossed that bridge when they scrapped the R-Numbers; there's no such thing as a mis-match any more.
Some University City passengers might get annoyed with the changes if they've been accustomed to a through ride.

Maybe, one of these days, ThirdRail7 will quit with the intrigue and give us a hint of what he's talking about. If you wait until next month, (Jan at the outside) the Pennsylvanian is likely to have a slightly different look, particularly on the Keystone corridor. Train 42 on January 25 looke...

Mostly the coal came down that grade or went the long way around. The empties went over the top.
