apparently an oversized container car hit a bridge, don't they have clearance info?
I recall seeing this video of some train crawling under a bridge and the cars were too tall and scrape scrape they all were getting top shredded.

5 miles away can be enough for a different ridership demand and choice. As far as taking the same route in as Metra and terminus, nope gotta spread that out, rush hour you know. If NICTD beats them at the build tho, it might prove the metra line might not be needed...or not not needed...er, you catc...

As far as the gallery car schedules, I know they are run on Trains 116, 109, and 211, not sure about other schedules.that was a few years ago, assignments can change, but I would expect them on some of the rush hour runs.
There was not enough overhead clearance on the Skokie Valley for catenary construction, and it was not feasible to lower the roadbed because of the water table underneath the roadbed. So there was no other alternative but to run third rail to East Prairie. thats exactly it, we had a long discussion...
