The Good, The Bad and the Ugly...

Joe, Yeah, I'm 27 and I pine for the Model Railroaders from the 90's. Good Construction articles. Kitbash this, scratchbuild that, really got me into the hobby. I was out of the loop for about five years (1998-2003) while I studied abroad in Japan and finished college in Milwaukee (limited space in ...

Don't tell me that the only people on this forum are from either the left or right coasts! C'mon, where are the Iwoans, Michiganders, Wisconsinites, North and South Dakotans, Missourians (Missourites?), Illinoians, Nebraskans, Indianians, Kansas Folk and Oklahomans? Most of all, WHERE ARE MY FELLOW ...

I'm still here. I'm also bummed out over the loss of the old forums. A lot of knowledge lost. But, we're all still around, so maybe we're witnessing the rebirth of the phoenix. Time will tell, I'm excited to see where it goes from here.

Winona, MN shops

I posted a quirry in the structures and terminals forum, but thought I'd also ask the C&NW guys. I lived in Winona, MN for three years (1995-1998) while attending classes at Winona State University, so I didn't really see much of the Northwestern, except for the changing of the guard from C&...

Rochester, MN

Hey guys, First forum topic for C&NW! As much as I'd like to talk about Winona some more, I'm also currious to know about how extensive operations were in Rochester, MN. If I'm not mistaken, the trackage in Rochester was originally that of the Chicago Great Western, wasn't it? I know the 400 mad...

Minneapolis & St. Paul... two cities one extensive transit network (one of the largest in the Midwest). Homebuilt cars (at its own Snelling Ave. shops) and PCCs. What else can you ask for? Also up for a discussion on the Como-Harriet line (now operated by the Minnesota Transit Museum) and the ol...

TMER&L (Milwaukee)

Started this on the old forums, let's see if we can start any new interest here... I'm not a native of Milwaukee, but I finished my last three years of college at the UW-Milwaukee (2000-2003... so I'm an honorary Milwaukean, I guess) and learned a little about the TMER&L through some college his...

Winona, MN Shops

Hey All! I spent my first three years of college at Winona State University in Winona, MN (1995-1998). Unfortunately, most of the railroad support facilities were demolished by the time I got there. I used to walk along 3rd St (or was it 2nd...) right next to the C&NW (Now UP) Yard and ponder so...
