Hi guys, Yes NJT occupies the east end of the old A yard (hump yard). They layed track and electrified it. I dont know if they own or lease from NS. But NS still has ROW through there. NJT uses that area for maintainence and storage. Seems they ran out of space at Trenton, and Hamilton. As far as ac...

Here's a few questions to ponder: Why did conrail or NS rip up the the track on the original row of the cut off ? I am under the impression that the state of Pa does not charge taxes to RR's on theyr'e abandened row, track or not.. I can understand the cantenary being taken down from active row to a...

The individual who was struck and killed was a man by the name of Mark (last name withheld). He was employed as asst chef at a local restaurant at which I am also employed. The way we understand it, Mark had just picked up a take-out food order at a bar located directly accross the tracks from his h...

PRR completed eletrificaton of its whole system by the start of WW2. In about the late 50's there aging fleet of old electrics (p5's I think) were pretty well beat, and they needed to find a new and more powerfull unit. They checked out the E33's that another road was using, then approached GE with ...

I recall several stories from the eastern end of the cutoff.. One is of a derailment / explosion in the Morrisville hump yard back in the early 70's (I think). The retarder operator at the hump told me this story around 1976 or so. During a routine hump operation, a Flamable material tank was humped...

Re: the ref to Hamilton station. I was refering to the Hamilton Township Metro Complex... I've never been over there, but what i can gather from the aireal photos on Local.Live.Com. theres no sign of any interlocking. So, so much for that idea. You would think when planning a large complex such as H...

Removing service from stations is not acceptable whatsoever. Creating duplicate service that will take longer to get to Philly is unreasonable. Besides, Trenton's NEC station doesn't have the capacity. (THE ABOVE IS A QUOTE FROM IRISH-) If your talking about Clinton ave, I agree. But I would think t...

R3 to Trenton

One more obsticle to consider: The old Trenton cutoff (NS) line into
Morrisville yards is no longer electrofied. So Septa would either have to run diesel, or re-string the "cant" wire. And thats if NS would be willing to go along with the idea in the first place.
