With it labeled Grand Central Madison. The area that LIRR took over was Metro North's Madison layup yard. I think it benefited both crews and the railroad to have smaller freights go double ended to places. For instance if the RF-30 went to the Port Jeff branch they could turn at Hunt 3(sometimes after servicing Gaylord Paper bag/American tissue). The LIRR engineering department took over that former General Motors building by Central Ave. Maybe as was mentioned in Newsday a bit back they're looking to install a switch there for equipment/track cars?

There was an article written by a former EMD official that stated the LIRR geep order was the last ever EMD order intended for passenger locomotive service.

Small update in Railfan & Railroad magazine( April) 2022. It stated that CN Rail is rehabbing and keeping some of the GP38-2's from GMTX. I think the FBOX is a single plug door vs the TBOX double plug door and length you would see. Don't quote me on this but a lot of those are used for paper rolls or newsprint Plate F height with a single door to unwind or open?

Emjay Environmental came on board on NY&Atlantic around 2005/06. They were a consignee maybe until 2013 or so. AJM paper was actually north of them and the furthest north on the "back track." I didn't hear about Metro Foods maybe they're newer? AJM/Roblaw took cars even in LIRR freight...

Yes, even more Gershow. They got cleared to move C&D( like Coastal) so another switch installed facing point eastbound west of their facility. Not sure when and if they'll begin shipping. The old Synergy gas switch installed in early 90's never saw one propane car .
