From reviewing material at another site, I've learned that the Napa Valley Wine Train has had to withdraw their Alco FA's from service. Apparently, there were environmental issues.

Here's a video of consists taken during November '23;

Well now that it appears I can upload photos to the site, here's looking from Windsor.

Yesterday, I did a "park and shoot" of Michigan Central (or whatever it's actually named) But be that as it may all I can think is that King Henry's Subjects are doing the "comeback city" proud. Saturday evening, I walked along Woodward Ave the 1.8 mi from Renaissance Center to O...

From Marriott Renaissance Center Detroit-- Yesterday. Observed #76 at Windsor. I just walked on to the platform from the street. What I observed was a four car train of Amtrak hand me downs (one ex-SP) handled by a P-42. All looked to be - at least on the outside - in a "state of disrepair"...

From Windsor ON--

That rule probably emanated from Chatsworth.

I'm personally not surprised he got six months. Could have been Life.

Still, conductor is law on the train... and from what I see of RailJunkie, points to more of the engineer trying to put his own "front facing" camera in the cab. From Holiday Inn, Akron West--- It is possible that this CSX Engineer placed his own camera in the engine is that he wanted HIS...

Observed 381(13).

Charger, 3 Ventures, AmCafe on rear.

Seems as if, like in California, the Food Service cars are AWOL.

Something tells me that there is more to the story Mr. Wolf has related. So long as other passengers' privacy is respected, i.e. "don't aim your device right at me", I cannot imagine on board photography being prohibited by any party - especially if out the window (if you can fine one that...

True, Mr. Charles River; but the Nashville-Atlanta segment addressed was part of the route. And yes, the W&A is owned by GA (a bit by TN) and Chessie leases the line. It also was where over most of the line, from Kennesaw to Tunnel City the Great Locomotive Chase occurred. Now so far as Georgia ...

Volks, the days of Getting there is half the fun" are gone. Transportation and/or Logistics are the means by which anything, animate and otherwise, is moved from one location to another. The Anderson regime at Amtrak clearly set forth such was the agency's objective. Those who get enjoyment fro...

Yep, it's what's been said all along: get private investment to build it, declare bankruptcy, default on the private investments, and hand it over to the government.. Off topic here, but that is where I think Brightline (FL) is heading. It's here to stay, but it needs more than the 99 passengers - ...

Well... after finding myself locked out of Trains dot com, and going through the annoyance of having to dream up a new password. I finally got to read the CLASSIC TRAINS article authored by long-standing Kalmbach staffer Kevin Keefe. First, so far as the Midwest former NYC/MC Mercury service, even i...

I've been around here since June 1999, when I first joined the site with dial-up. I served as the sole Moderator of the Amtrak Forum for two defined terms after Mike and Otto bought the site. No question whatever I was "tough" because I wanted to set a standard which I think still prevails...
