And speaking of BMO... is there any significance to PAR's choice of BMO (Bank of Montreal) to handle the sale? For instance, would that signal that they were hoping for or expecting a Canadian buyer? Possibly...but several Canadian Banks have a presence in the US anyway: TD – Toronto Dominion RBC –...

An 'Atlantic Bubble' was just announced effective July 3rd that will allow residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador to travel within the 4 Atlantic Provinces without having to isolate for 14 days. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-islan...

So which was the last Canadian mixed train by a major carrier? (not including local and regional carriers including Ontario Northland and Keewatin) CN operated a Narrow-Gauge Mixed Train in Newfoundland up until the railway was abandoned in October 1988. Trains 203-204 operated between Bishops Fall...

The first time I travelled in Amtrak Business Class......I was expecting a Hot Meal along with complementary Beer, Wine or Liquor just like I get in VIA Business Class but all I got was a free pop!

To get a similar service to what I get on VIA.....I would need to be in Amtrak First Class.

I'd love to see someone bulk-load package freight into a Superliner coach... The last time I checked there are no stairs that passengers use on the interior of a Boeing 737/Airbus A320. Standard airport vehicles/equipment can be used to bring the freight up to door level. Use a ramp up to the enddo...

The US/Canada Border is to remain closed to non-essential travel until at least June 21......so no resumption of Amtrak service until then and probably longer than that!

The Amtrak Cafe on the Maple Leaf while in Canada is also cashless. I know the Amfleet I Cafe is stocked by VIA north of the border with Canadian products, are the selections similar to "Corridor" trains? Does the VIA crew post their own menu inside the Amfleet? Here's the Maple Leaf's 'C...

Payments are interesting from country to country. We sign for credit cards even when we do it online. In Europe and S. America..... Canada also.....I can't remember the last time I had to sign a credit card slip....and now it's mostly just a tap (or proximity) at the terminal and no need to even en...

Doesn't look good for the reinstatement of the Maple Leaf anytime soon. Ontario Premier Ford is adamant he does not want the Canada/US Border open. And he has the backing of the Premiers of BC (Cascades) and Quebec (Adirondack). It's certainly a Federal jurisdiction...and no matter what Trump might ...

And this makes sense. Why would anyone want to be travelling now anyway. Now? Sure, I understand. But cancelling until November 1st seems a bit long. I'm not sure if I would be comfortable socializing in the dome or diner even by November. But if things do get under control by then.....early Novemb...

I somehow thought that "the switch would be flipped" long about "The Fourth"/Dominion Day and we'd all be back to normal. This announcement by VIA Rail certainly throws those thoughts of mine "out the window". And this makes sense. Why would anyone want to be travellin...

We’re looking at photos of Montreal EXO trains, And we are puzzled by the ten horns? Or ten chime horns? Or maybe it’s dual 5 chime horns? Is it a reliability issue? Horns are more likely to fail in sub freezing weather? Redundancy! Noise By-laws in suburban communities adjacent to some of the over...
