There is a video on Facebook of low-hanging (telephone?) wires at the Okerson Rd crossing getting touched by the train. Nothing major, but those wires are bouncing in the video... That's the video I took and posted on my Freehold Secondary site . The centerbeams were definitely hitting the Verizon ...

Anyone want to give a number on about how many out of the 125,000 attendees might have got there (or left) on the BSL?

I don't think I recall the bridge in the middle of downtown Hightstown... That one I do remember. A long one rIght in front of the fire department on an angle. And another smaller one just before it over Stockton St. They went out maybe 40 years ago, long before the highway bypass was built. Not su...

The new South Ward station will essentially just be a new access point (from the northwest side of the tracks, i.e. Frelinghuysen Ave) to the existing EWR platforms, is that right? What I hadn't thought of until just now reading the above link and links in that is that if/when PATH ever makes it to ...

Near the rear of the locomotive it looks like wooden blocks maybe ? Part an (unsuccessful) re-railing process? I can imagine that poor track maintenance in County Rd was at least part to blame.

While on the subject, what is the suspected cause of the problem at NY Penn earlier in the week?

Looks like the track is now connected all the way through. They tied into the Fairfield Rd crossing some time this morning. Now for ballast, alignment, ballast, rinse and repeat. In Farmingdale they have put a bunch of rock (not ballast) down, about 50 ft in from Railroad ave extending west (north)...

Thanks. It’s been years since I followed NYSW. How many round trips do they make between Syracuse and NJ per week these days? IIRC SU-92 was one way, but I forget which one. Maybe 5(?) years ago there was talk of changes in connections in Syracuse and ownership north of there, but CSX was opposed or...

What's with that camper at 3:20? Sort of looks like it fell down from the approach to the overpass - the guard rail on the road of the cameraman is still intact.

If (and that's a big IF) I remember the discussion about the PSEG guy wires correctly, the guy wires were more of an issue closer to where the new leg of the wye would connect to the Southern. Especially if the tracks go south of that fenced in pumping station on the west side of Railroad Ave. https...
