That's great information, thanks for the effort you all put into your posts. As a builder of Alco-MLW locomotives (in N-Scale) I find this topic quite enlightening and sad in a way. Time to dig out my Alco books and read them again. Also due to plan our next visit to Upstate NY (WNYP), and our belov...

A quick look at Google Maps shows 9 RDC's and an LRC just northwest of the turntable. The Canadian is also parked in the yard. A careful look along New Toronto St on Streetview shows the RDC's if you take the time to look for them. I suspect you could see them a little better from the grass verge. I...

Hi
I think there are at least 6 in service at the moment. The 630 and the 5 mentioned in the attached Link.

The ones referred to here are likely 41 43 85 637 638, all M-636's.

Hi
A "little" off topic, but Laura and I were married on the M&E many years ago. Ben was my Best Man, and Jan was Laura's Matron of Honour. My avatar was taken on our 20th Anniversary return to Morristown.

Hi
The second NZR ferry was the Aranui, built around 1966, give or take a year. For memory "Ara" means something along the lines of water way or pathway.

Hi I asked the following question on the thread mentioned by Chris above, but had no feedback. Anyone able to answer it? I thought I knew lots about the motive power of the Lamoille Valley, but I've just seen something on Ebay that was a complete surprise. There are a couple of slides for sale, show...

Hi There is a lot of great info on the M&E's own website, no customer info these days, but locations of transload facilities. There is also some good info on the Wiki site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morristown_and_Erie_Railway" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Not sure ...

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but are you still planning to repaint the 3573? Your artwork for it looks really sharp.

Hi Just wondering how many Alco owned demonstrator or shop diesels are still out there? I know plant switcher #5 is still about. Two of the C-636 demos are parked in Cohocton, but what else is out there? Four of the 5 RS-27s went to UP, with one ending up as an MLW lease unit (676?) then to Devco. T...

I'm just guessing, but these are the 3 heading to Morristown, NJ, whereas 100 is heading to the Maine Eastern in Rockland. Not sure how the units will get to their respective destinations, but they had to be split somewhere.
