Both 611 and 614 were running the MD-N today, in fact they met right in front of my face at Deerfield!

Metra 147 is back from rebuild and was part of a doubleheader yesterday on the UP-W. Unfortunately, 147 lost its Operation Livesaver paint in favor of a standard Metra paint job when it was rebuilt.

Somebody got hit and killed by a Metra train (again) near the Naperville station. A person got hit and killed by a BNSF freight earlier this summer at the same station.

Last Saturday before I went to Homewood, I stopped by Franklin Park. Both F40Cs were running surprisingly.

Well if they remove the Downers Grove crossovers and have Belmont going under the tracks, couldn't they move the holding point from Belmont to just west of Forest Avenue in Downers Grove? If they did that, even the longest freights should be able to clear the East Lisle plant.

I would guess they'd have to open a smaller station in Aurora in addition to the ATC. That or the trains going west of Aurora could skip Aurora entirely.

104 was on Heritage Corridor 921 today, so it wasn't on the Rock for long.

Sounds like anyone west of Chicago will have to wait until National Train Day is over before they see any of these units. Apparently they're not going to be leaving the east coast until after the event.
