Looks great! Note that he's requesting errors get emailed to him so he can correct before it goes to print in a month or so. Seems the methodology is that lines where the ROW still exists, even if it's a parking lot, gets the light grey, otherwise it's nothing. Seems like a good solution to have mos...

Seems there was a track fire at Roosevelt on the Red Line last night on the southbound track.

Oh, one additional question--on 65/66/67, does the crew dim the lights, or do any other similar sleep-friendly things?

Northeast Regional Amfleet business class question

I'm considering a trip on train 65 in a couple week, and was considering business class. I've never ridden Amtrak business class (except Acela), what's that like? Are the seats substantially larger than coach? Does anyone have specs like pitch and width and max tilt angle to compare with the plane s...

Trenton, Paoli, and Media lines all showing significant delays. The alerts say switch problems at Secane for Media, unspecified switch problems for Paoli, and no specific reason for Trenton (presumably cascading delays from the delays on the other two lines?).

Another note regarding Foxborough and its residents using other stations is that the Foxboro station is located at Gilette, a decent ways from where most people in Foxborough live. So it's not like the station will be very much more convenient to access for most Foxborough residents than Mansfield a...

Delays this morning on the Paoli/Thorndale line. SEPTA's website said it was due to slippery rail.

Isn't the Orange Line pretty much maxxed out capacity-wise on the North Side? Or is what I hear about the AM rush-hour situation there exaggerated?

Looks like there was some disruption this evening on the Paoli/Thorndale line. SEPTA alerts say residual delays of 60 minutes. Anyone know what the issue was, exactly? From TrainView (and from an informant stuck on one of the trains), it sounds like things are backed up between 30th St and Overbrook.

Re: North Broad Station-logic and necessity of stops

North Broad is also the victim of the chicken and egg game. Does it have light ridership because no one uses it, or is ridership light because no trains stop there? I'm not sure it's entirely chicken-and-egg--lots of other stations with similar levels of service have higher ridership. Most trains f...

Re: Question about local/express routing through Bryn Mawr

I think Keystones use the middle track between Paoli and Bryn Mawr only--at least I believe that's how it was when I rode it a week ago. They keep it on the outside tracks for the stop at Paoli, then it's on the inner tracks, but it goes back to the outside for the stop at Ardmore. I imagine sometim...

I think EWR is a bit of a special case, though. It's served not just by a local or regional agency but by Amtrak. The (relative) speed of Amtrak and the fact that it goes to other urban areas besides North NJ and NYC gives EWR a potentially huge catchment area, much bigger than many other east coast...

Nifty, thanks. I assume then that WB/EB expresses stop on track 2/3, respectively, then, and switch from/to tracks 1/4 after they leave the station? For the locals and expresses, what method is used to make sure no trains use track 1/4 when trains are stopped on track 2/3? Is it just the dispatcher ...

I've got a possibly stupid question about how trains on the R5 go through Bryn Mawr. Trains that express inside Bryn Mawr switch to the express track at that interlocking, I assume, but the portion of the interlocking to go from the WB express to the WB local track is West of Bryn Mawr. Do those tra...
