Mine has arrived in my mailbox as we speak. Thanks a lot!

Note that the three countries you mention: India, Australia, and Canada all had Alco license production within their respective countries. Thus the currency issue would not be a factor (or would be less of a factor), and I assume that many countries would prefer home built production over imported l...
Great news! A real classic.
As always sources disagree, so we may never know...
In the Steinbrenner book the 1905 map shows no obvious service from the D&H. There are NYC-D&H connections just to the west and east of the plant (the eastern connection runs right through the plant south of the Erie Canal), and perhaps they used those connections. The 1945 map shows a rewor...
along with some EMD switchesSome of us assumed this meant some EMD switchers.
I don't think those types of mechanical aspects determine a ZWT truck - the most important aspect is the bolster height.
Hi, What constitutes a zero weight transfer truck? I assumed it was that the bolster connection was at the same height as the wheel axles? Mt. Vernon, IL 62864
Looking at Google Earth they might be off the tracks in the southern area (looks like a parts/junk area). If so, in very bad shape.

Hi, Yep, you are correct. Not sure if the 2099 was built short hood forward, since it is ex Alco demo 1600 and then TP&W. But it was definitely so when in service with ATSF. Turns out there at least one other RS unit built (or changed to) short hood forward operation. NP: http://www.american-rai...
He did, but as I remember they are actually FM trucks which are slightly different. They still look very good, though.
