Re: Old Rockaway Beach Relics Removed In Forest Park

Many of them through forest park were already toppled over. Were there any signs that they were fully removed? (foundations pulled out, truck or heavy equipment tracks in the dirt?)

NYC Parks dept can barely maintain their parks on a whole. I'd be surprised if this was an official clean up effort.

Anyone know if any more M3s will be shipped out to the great razorblade factory in the sky? The two M3s down at Blissville are basically scrapping themselves. I went by there two week ago and was somewhat surprised to find that thieves had found more wiring and parts to rip off the heavily graffiti ...

This link was posted in the BRT thread: https://www.newsday.com/services/sponsored-content/promoted-1.8594397?prx_t=1kcGA5rBIA1KUQA It's a paid ad explaining a plan to build a large waste transfer station next to BRT (south side of the tracks). I suspect this will eventually happen, given how unreal...

He didn't "just take a sick day". He was perfectly healthy and went to the capitol and participated in an insurrection. What he did in there is a matter for legal authorities to deal with. For the MTA though, he abused the sick day policy. That should be a fire-able offense. It is a very c...

That is one and the same New Haven co. Sounds like the old Fresh Direct/Case Paper site will be replaced by 'an ecommerce last mile distribution warehouse' (ie: Amazon). https://licpost.com/five-story-warehouse-planned-to-go-up-on-borden-avenue I'm surprised to see it stay within industrial use, but...

No idea what job number but Wheelspur is indeed served at night a few times per week. Blissville & Bushwick get restocked with WM empties during the day (I'm assuming after they're pulled direct from the CSX turn in the morning), and empties are pulled out at night or (at least on sundays) early...

That would be a lot of freight...

The trash has to go somewhere, and trucks on the LIE ain't the answer.

Would these go to MNCR or be split somehow? Looks like MN, LI & Amtrak own around 80 dual modes total.

Pretty sure they just bought another GP40 off NS - was wondering if maybe this was sent to Utica?

With a single carrier, Poland Spring could potentially ship direct to the NYC market (via the Bronx, perhaps at hunts point terminal market—alleviating the need to build that terminal in CT and dealing with trucking down I-95).

They are loaded in CT, and are hauled by P&W via Fresh Pond. The cars can be interchanged anywhere, though they only need to run to the mine in CT.

Ooooph. I wonder if they will at least keep a track or two for the occasional outlawed train?

Are there any CSX locals left on the east side of the river?

Stinks of politics. Mellon went out of his way to back Trump, and received a forgivable loan? I am *shocked* I tell you...

Nice. 485 I believe is the one tucked in behind M&E 22 and some passenger cars behind an office park. It's very beat up.
