NB/FR service won't happen during my remaining lifetime. I decided to begin reading this thread from the start. Of course, this post was made years ago now. Is mxdata still with us? Still here, just barely, and still waiting. Based on recent announcements that old post could st...

An article published Feb 28, 1018 on page A3 of the Dartmouth Chronicle lists the cost of Middleboro at $935 million. The existing fleet will continue to fail crankshafts at an accelerated rate because the engines are all in a very similar age range out of overhaul, except for the few with recent engine changes, and Keolis and the MBTA have not been able to keep up with need for main bearing renewals. The 645E3C en...

Someone on the project told me back around 2012 that electronic equipment was to be purchased for this train so the "children" could do their "lessons" on the train.

Apparently no concern over that stuff being totally outdated before the train would be completed.

A run time of 95 to 100 minutes via Middleborough is supposed to be an improvement over the existing bus service?

How ironic that this result that could have been achieved years ago when the train was intact.

I recently was told that the containers with the Winton engine and all the removed parts had been moved to a NH DOT storage yard.

The tent was about at the point of falling down on the train by itself, so the railroad may have taken it down as a safety concern.

From what I could tell, the RFP was just as confused as the last time around. I would expect that most of the companies that bid it would have had to provide a menu of options to cover all the internal conflicts within the specification.

This project is often referred to as the "Southcoast Snail".

It has been suggested that its slogan should be "Headed your way since 1991".
