Amtrak fan trips on Lehigh/Reading Lines. CNJ GP40P Heritage unit on NJT. Only problem is it is not currently on neither RV line or NJ Coast Line, where it began its career. Maybe in due time? Those are two I can think of. One negative. The abolishment of H74(or76,depending on who you ask) on the fo...
Earlier this week I observed 4901 in a revenue move trailing a set heading to Hoboken without a cab car behind it. 4906 was observed leading a train out of Hoboken. Looks like that the Metro-North engines are finally getting the PTC gear. Anyone know if all of them have it already? No, but all the ...
Any idea when the "EL" 4519 will be out in revenue?? Anyone know??
I know the PRR had mechanical problems so that might be a little while longer.
Many probably don't care, but the PRR unit was released to passenger service today... Might see revenue service by tomorrow or by the weekend.
So the withholding of the comets past Suffern lasted a few years after their delivery, from about 1970 to 1974. That must have been infuriating I Imagine to put up with no air conditioning on the stillwells during summer, especially on long commutes. I believe the U34/push pulls made their first re...
Seems all the WOH engines are STILL sidelined. I'm guessing there is still a dispute who should pay for PTC installation or is it now other issues??
Believe it or not, there are even plans to bring the 4109 back to revenue service, amazingly! 4109 is the Geep that was recently repainted into the blue CNJ scheme, correct? I had assumed they would use this in revenue service, but I take it from your comment that there are still mechanic issues to...

NJT will likely NOT be replacing ANYTHING with dual modes. The dual modes will come in and fill the gaps for all the power they got rid of in the last few years that should NOT have been. I hope you are right for the sake of all those people waiting for the train only to hear an announcement that i...
. I also heard that there is talk about those steam excursions running on other Septa Lines this summer. Really? By Whom? To be honest, I don't think something like that will happen as Septa was very reluctant to go along with this trip even at 10 MPH, but I guess with some "arm twisting"...
BTW, was told 4119 and 4120, the last 2 F40s on NJT roster will be getting PTC as well.. However, I don't know if they will ever enter revenue service again.. My guess is no, but one never knows at NJT.
FWIW, a bunch of geeps ( maybe 4 or 5) were spotted in M&E Morristown shops earlier this week.. Most were the work engines, but also spotted was 4101 which looked to be getting PTC.. Hopefully its back in action soon!
Thanks CR7876. Would you happen to know what time or time frame they get over there when they do go to Totowa? I will be going to the new post site after this. Thanks again. Blocksignal. Unfortunately the last few weeks they have only been going to Totowa on Wednesdays, most likely due to NJT track...
