I don't see the albums for LV and D&H photos anymore, and the EL album is down to one photo...anyone know why? Are the LV and D&H photos gone for good?

Per the item description, it sounds like the cut is where I-88 now crosses the tracks.

Charles, thanks for showing us these great photos!

Google maps shows a small yard just south of the Murray Street crossing...I take it that was the PRR Newark yard? Is that where the train in the photos would have tied up for the day, or would it have tied up somewhere else?

Combine that black "stealth" paint job with the trees in front, and I can see why it went undetected for so long.

Google street view - per the article Otto quoted in his October 12 post, the caboose was relocated from the entrance of the building to the rear. When you go to street view, go up to Main St, and you'll see the caboose sitting in front of the building...actually, attached to the front of the buildin...

I'm not seeing a road parallel to the bridge in the photo. If you're talking about that dark strip on the opposite side of the bridge from the photographer, I think that's the bridge's shadow, not a road.

Hey, I think I might have found where Bridge L361A was! Thanks to TB Diamond's MP info, I took a look at the USGS Weedsport quadrangle from 1954 and found the Auburn Branch crossed a little something called High Bridge Road a couple miles south of West Shore Jct. It couldn't be that easy, could it? ...

High Bridge L361A between Auburn and Weedsport. Searched for it, but never found. Evidently, a source for some local hijinx! Is this bridge definitely between Auburn and Weedsport? I did a quick scour of that section of the line on Google Maps' Aerial View, and nothing jumped out at me that might r...

Charles, if you're willing to go about 1.5 miles west of Warners, the Bennetts Corners Road crossing in the hamlet of Memphis might be worth a look. I haven't actually been there, but I have scouted it out on Google Maps' Earth View and Street View. There's a small parking area on the south side of ...

On the NYSW Northern Division Yahoo Group, a Q004 detour was reported leaving Syracuse this morning at 12:01 AM. Could this train be it, and not SU-99?

Not sure why the track wasn't rebuilt, nor when Gutchess last received a car at their location. I think they may unload cars on the siding inside the wye south of Port Watson Street, and truck the loads the rest of the way. Prior to 2007, there was at least one winter where tank cars were stored on ...

Surprisingly enough, the Cortland library has a copy that can be borrowed; I've had it out myself a couple of times. It's an okay book; I don't think I'd pay $130 for it, though. Wish the photo reproduction in it was a bit better, especially the 1970s views of trains working the line in Etna and Cor...
