Recent utility work along Edgehill Road in Abington Township has unearthed old ties along the old Route 6 trolley ROW that probably haven't seen the light of day in a century or more. They are in amazing condition given their age and some even still have the rail clips attached. Trolleys last ran al...

Thanks. I figured that may have been the case, especially with the quick flip as it was obvious that they did not go all the way to Harrisburg given the timing.

Septa Keystone Corridor Run

A five car Septa push/pull set passed Paradise, PA this morning at 10:31:53 WB and 11:18:30 EB. Engineer was aware of the Virtual Railfan camera at that location and made a lot of noise eastbound. Any idea what this run was for? DVR of this run will be available for 12 hours after the time the train...

I agree 1000% with Mactraxx's commentary on stainless steel construction for railcars. Look no further than the 70 year old Budd RDC's that are still around and even older, the 1937 built Reading Crusader observation car at RRMPA which looks almost as good as the day it entered service.

Sorry to hear that. They were well cared for by Tony's team and added some nice character to Tuckahoe. Does anyone know where they are headed? Pictures?

The P-RSL train station still stands at 10th and Haven and serves as the NJT bus terminal. Good news is that is has been restored and is well maintained. The bulk of the ROW between downtown and 35th ST is intact but is now a bike path. As there is no desire whatsoever for train service to return, a...

Latest on the fate of the B.L. England power plant. I wonder if there would be any market for an extension of tourist train service once the site is redeveloped? https://pressofatlanticcity.com/news/local/former-bl-england-power-plant-sold-to-developer/article_89420dd6-4c66-11ec-ae5c-0f05788d1d6b.ht...

Amtrak did lease at least one ACS-64, along with an Amfleet push-pull set during the SL-V truck debacle when they were all taken out of service. NJT also leased an ALP46 and trainset during the same period. Ironically, SEPTA leased the AEM-7's to NJT while the NJT fleet was having PTC installed but ...

The push/pull locos are Siemens ACS-64's, the same locos that Amtrak uses on the NEC and Keystone Corridor.

West Trenton trains 6365 and 5340 are also running with a push/pull set.

The amount of crossing signalling these days is more a representation of the amount of highway traffic vs. the frequency of the trains.

There is a siding at Winslow which held five or six retired NJT Comets a couple years ago that is now empty. I believe there is also an unused siding near AC International that has been used for MOW storage in the past.

While some of these ventures may be viable, a publicly available NJ upper court judgment search reveals that Cape May Seashore Lines has many open monetary judgments of record against it aggregating over $300,000. That makes it rather unlikely that CSML could obtain the financing and business partn...

Looks like a neat operation and at least some revenue for Tony on the southern end of the line.
