Long Island steam number plates - Do you know the survivors?

I can say with authority, we know number plates were saved from G5s's 35, 36, 38, and 44. I know at least one H-10s plate was made into a foot stool, though we don't know which number. We are trying to determine which other authentic LIRR steam number plates were collected at the end of steam servic...

This legendary piece of LIRR wreck equipment looks to be in fair, if not good condition at the BR&W in New Jersey. In fact, it would look great with afresh coat of black paint and the white circle "LI" logo on its side. Give the cable a coat of oil to prevent further rust and she's pro...

I recall something of the like with "Mr. Met", but never with the keystone. The keystone was largely hidden back in 1964.

YES! Have a cursory inspection, perhaps retired car knocker. Write up those observations, what is required to correct the specific issues, and cost to remediate. Seek sponsors to cover individual issues or to donate services. Give an estimated time to complete the job once the goals are met. Place e...

Losing the "Jamaica" would be a loss of an important Long Island artifact. Sic transit gloria*.

*And not just Gloria, but everyone who rode in the "Jamaica".

No railroad car in preservation will last long without regular maintenance, grease and paint. It would be sad to lose "Jamaica" as she harkens a long way back into the era of LIRR name-trains and the steam era.

Perhaps only nominally useful, but Jeff Skinner of the "Trainman's Trio", appeared and performed at a Sunrise Trail NRHS meeting in the late 60's.
He was very full of life and sang well. Somebody has a picture, I'm sure.
