Re: Metro-North 40th Heritage Wraps

Hey, there's one! It looks good in the NYC livery, very cool. I'm happy to see it but surprised this was up next. I thought a PC was in the works and would have been next. Are they still doing two more? As shortlived as it was, it would be an awesome heritage look if they do the all-black and PC logo.

We're gonna be in year 41 soon...with 3 planned wraps to go. Where are these gems?

Southport CT has a nice spot called Paci in the outbound station house. Mamaroneck has had a few spots. Dobbs Ferry has a nicely renovated building with a restaurant. Always thought they needed to do something with the Crestwood station. It's an attractive little building in a nice location. Could e...

Ive read several articles that cover the extended use of the 3rd rail. The P-32 had an issue with arching above 60mph, no? how will that be solved

Looks great in Conrail livery! I'm enjoying the wraps a lot so far. NYC has to be the final one. What's next? All black with the PennCentral logo?

Also...what's the lifespan of the wrap? Will these remain in these heritage liveries until the Chargers?

Interesting responses all! I did some heavy comparisons with photos and Google Maps. It is most definitely the Montauk Station. The high level station doesn't extend all the way to the end of that track. Some of the low level platform remains by the old station house. C3s look about right. As for th...

There is a scene in Season 1 Episode 2 that is shot at the Montauk LIRR station. The arriving train looks like a P-40, but either way, it's definitely a Genesis Loco. Behind it are a string of double deckers that aren't clearly identifiable, but look like Superliners. There are very few markings on ...

probably, the engine was laying on its side and kept running for over hour, which can't be good for it. Why wasn't the emergency engine stop activated by FDNY? Were they instructed to keep the engine running for any reason? I wasn't at this incident and I can certainly say that killing the locomoti...

I assume the P32 has dynamic braking (does it?). Is it controllable from the cab car?

It appears at final tally that there were 4 fatalities. This has to be the most serious MNRR accident in recent history...very sad.

I see a northbound Amtrak regional train sitting for MORE THAN ONE HOUR on Hell Gate Bridge. It has two diesels on the front, coupled to an electric. I think I'll skip by Boston trip scheduled for Oct 7. Can't believe how badly the engineers messed up on their power rehab project. FDNY responded to...
